The Miss Bahamas Teenager Organization is honored to have joined The Honorable Lanisha Rolle M.P, Minister for Social Service and Urban Development at her Reception in Honor of Women’s Week. The theme: “Strong Women, Strong Families, Strong Community” resonates with us as we seek to develop strong young women in The Bahamas.

We are especially grateful to be in the presence of exceptional Bahamian Women some of which were honorees at tonight’s event namely: Janet Bostwick and Italia Johnson. We also met Fox Hill winners among other special guests.

We are proud of our queen Regency Bahamas and Kiara Marie – Miss Bahamas Teenager who represented us well tonight.

MBT Queen Nominated as a recipient of the Youth Leadership and Community Service Award

Miss Bahamas Teenager Kiara Diggiss was nominated as a recipient of the Youth Leadership and Community Service Award.

According to Kiara

What a privilege and an honor to be nominated as a recipient of the Youth Leadership and Community Service Award for the Bahamas Government National Youth Awards. Being among the cadre of 120 outstanding youth leaders that was pinned by the Governor General of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Dame Marguerite Pindling, is a surreal experience that I will never forget. As this year’s theme state, I will use my title and my VOICE to make a positive contribution to my country. I was inspired by the keynote address by the Minister of Youth, The Honorable Michael Pintard. I am especially grateful to my father for supporting me at this momentous occasion and the contestant’s manager. Thank you to The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Bahamas for selecting me. I will continue to be the change in my country. I want to encourage each you to support this initiative and attend the Awards Ceremony on October 25th 2017 at The Atlantis, see You there. #missbahamasteenager #youthvoice

The Miss Bahamas Teenager Organization regrettably announces that Miss Chinasa Outten has relinquished her titled due to educational obligations, effective February 27th, 2017. The organization wishes Miss Outten all the best in her endeavors.

Miss Kiara Marie Diggiss, our 1st runner-up will now assume the title. Kiara is 16 years old and is currently a student enrolled at Queens College. Kiara’s endeavors in life are many and continuous goals is to make a significant impact on the lives of others; especially those in need. She says, “Focusing on the adversities we go through and the things which have been taken from us is a horrible way to experience life. Discovering what we can give to others, and that which we have to offer the world, is far better.” She aspires to become a surgical dermatologist. Her goal as well as her future aspirations, have a direct link to her platform; “Negotiating with Insecurities”. The platform is bordered around women being able to manage and manipulate the things they are self-conscious about; overall -women, especially young women- learning to love themselves and doing things that make them happy.

Since the 2016 competition, Kiara recently organized a fundraiser event in aid of medical expenses for kids. “Fashion your seatbelt” was a huge success. She recently ripped the runway at the Teen Top Model competition where she placed 2nd runner-up.Kiara now has her eyes set on continuing to be a positive youth ambassador not only to her peers, but for all youths both locally and internationally. Ms. Diggiss would like the youth to know that her mantra is: “Believe Beyond Your Beauty”. She feels if you follow this simple advice you can have anything you work hard for if you put your minds to.
